Noemi Child Car Seat – Information on Flame Retardants (TCPP)

The Noemi child car seat was developed in accordance with ECE Regulation 129 and meets all legal requirements.
In earlier production batches, the flame retardant TCPP was used to meet the required fire safety standards.

Since the end of 2020, TCPP has no longer been used in our child car seats.

Background on Testing

The Noemi child car seat was tested and certified according to ECE Regulation 129.
This regulation includes, among other things, requirements for the fire behavior of the materials used.

To meet these requirements, flame retardants were used in the past.

Use of TCPP

The flame retardant TCPP (Tris-(2-chlorisopropyl)phosphate) was used in the cover fabric of older production batches.

Important information:

  • TCPP was legally permitted at the time of production
  • all legal requirements were fully met
  • limits for toys under 3 years old do not directly apply to this child car seat

Change Since 2020

Regardless of legal requirements, we decided at the end of 2020 to stop using TCPP.

Since then:

  • alternative materials have been used
  • numerous internal tests have been carried out
  • TCPP has not been detected in newer products
